I came to know that one of the leading commercial bank in Nepal is running a scheme. The scheme allows any general public to create an account in that bank with just Rs. 1. The banking sector is so competitive and there are so many offers and schemes for attracting general public to open an account in their respective banks. When you deposit Rs. 1 plus two hundred you'll get a debit card as well. Sounds funny but its a fact.

Other similar seducing offers launched by other banks include a house for a lucky winner, cars, household appliances, gold, cash and many more gifts. As far as I have known all these commercial banks are on the run to collect as much revenue as possible. There is a very large hydro power station project to be started in the future. Hydro power has a very good scope in Nepal and all the banks are possibly waiting for that project to commence and all those banks should have enough revenue to invest upon that project. All those banks might bid and to bid they are preparing themselves from now.
