Nepal used to be one of the top exporter in garments. Some years back there were so many garment factories in and around the capital but all of them vanished in a sudden. They were the biggest sector which paid the largest amount of tax to the government. Those factories had provided enough employment as well.
In the eastern part of Nepal there used to be a very big garment factory called "Momento Apparels" which had three hundred workers in a shift and they had three shifts per day. It was one of the biggest garment factory in the whole of South Asia and it isn't is existence right now. That garment factory is still under operation but not in that scale as it used to be. Recently the government had cased a file against that factory for cheating tax and probably it will shut down in no time.
There is no specific factor or department to be blamed upon this but the owner himself. He too has been kept track of every move by the government at present.
