The shortage of petrol is again active in the city. You can see a long lines of vehicles in all possible gas stations. This is yet again the same old story and a sign of further hike in petrol. It is understood that the price of petrol in the international market has crossed every previous high and to maintain equilibrium with the international price the local price has to be hiked. The indigestible factor of this hike is that when the price of petrol falls in the international market the local price remains constant which is totally unjustifiable.

Though there may be some potential in the production of petrol inside the nation, there has been no effort of any kinds of such till date. As the number of people live under poverty, the nation is heading towards the worst as a slight movement in price of petrol affects the whole economy in a sudden.

We all know this fact but still we are helpless as we haven't been able to utilize the water resources. By selling electricity we would have been able to cope of with the price of petrol when its at the highest point. This is how Nepali economy is currently.
