The two largest social networking websites in existance today are Facebook and MySpace. While both essentially do the same thing, allow people to network with one another, they both have their differences.
Facebook has many advantages over MySpace. For example, the Facebook Platform easily allows developers to create modules for users to integrate into their facebook profile. MySpace, on the other hand, requires module creators to use raw HTML code. Another advantage that Facebook has is that it has the more professional design and it allows the end user to have more control over account settings, such as privacy settings. Finally, it is important to note that Facebook has a more powerful networking system than MySpace.
While Facebook has its good points over MySpace, it also lacks in certain areas. A good example of this is that Facebook, unlike MySpace, doesn't allow anything other than basic test customization for the profile pages. Another issue is that MySpace is designed for the teenager in mind, thus Facebook usually isn't as popular among the younger crowds of internet users. Finally, MySpace manages to obtain more exclusive deals with film companies, musicians, and other entertainers to provide entertainment to their users.
To be honest, a battle between Facebook and MySpace ends in a draw.
