There has been a hike in the petrol for the second time and has reached Rs. 80.00 per litre. Before the hike people had to stay in a queue for hours just to get a couple of litres or petrol. Now there are no queues in a petrol pump as the price has increased. This is very weird that, after the increment in the price of petrol, it is available in an abundant manner. It seems like the Nepal Oil Corporation has been involved in creating this artificial scarce. The consumption of petrol per day is very high. The stock of petrol cannot simply meet the demands. Just after the increase in the price of petrol, the supply has been sufficient and is able to meet the demands. The only solution to meet the petrol demand here in Nepal is to increase the price. I still wonder how does that happen.
More to this the price of petrol varies in different parts of Nepal. In the capital and urban areas, the price has been marked at Rs. 80.00 per litre and the price in the urban areas has been marked up to Rs. 83.00 per litre. This is a very wise policy applied by the Nepal Oil Corporation.
