The Nepal Oil Corporation has adopted a new way of supplying petroleum products in the valley. The gateway of Nepal through which all the foreign goods come through have been completely disturbed due to the strike called by the people of the terai region. The capital has been hit very badly as petrol has not been able to be brought in to the city.

The administration department raised curfews so that the petrol containers could enter the valley. With the shortage of such petroleum products since a long time back, the fluent supply has been very difficult. All the gas stations in the city are always crowded and the staffs are having a very hard time in filling petrol. Along with this the traffic also gets worsen.

Keeping this difficulty in problem, a very unique practice has come into play. In this practice, the odds and evens come into effect. Those vehicles having an even digit registered number are allowed on a day followed by the vehicles having an odd digit registration number, the next day. This could sound weird, but it's a reality. With this system no petrol pumps would be crowded and as far as possible all the vehicles would get sufficient petrol or diesel.
