The load shedding has hit the industrial sector the most. The productivity level of those industries has decreased by 60%. This means that the production level is only 40 % at present. This has caused a severe illness in the economy.
The overhead expenses of a manufacturing company is always there in spite of low production. The rent and taxes, electricity bills, communication bills, salaries and other miscellaneous expenses are indispensables expenses which those manufacturing companies still pay when the turnover of the company has gone really down due to lack of sufficient supply of electricity. The cash conversion then obviously goes down when manufacturing process is halted.
We cannot simply ignore the fact that there are some manufacturing plants which needs electricity all round the clock. The supply of those finished goods to the market has also been affected as the stocks of such finished goods are almost nil.
So the government and the electricity authority should fix this as soon as possible before it's too late.
