The world is growing at a very fast pace and the industrial sectors are the most to make the largest of leaps. Human has invented every thing to ease their lifestyle. Many research institutes and firms are still processing to rediscover or improvise tools and equipments to further ease their lifestyles. They have come up with the most sophisticated tools to make their life more luxurious. In this pace they have forgotten the importance of agriculture and farming. The most recent food shortage seen in the west has not been enough for developed nations to rise up and spend more resources on agriculture. And in these types of food scarcity, the developing and the under developed nations are the worst to suffer.
Nepal too can not be an exception where the numbers of manufacturing firms are mushrooming. With the lack of government’s proper far sighted vision of policies in the agricultural sector, there is every chance of food shortage to hit the nation. In this context, none of the governments of the world has shown enough interest in agriculture and no plans and schemes have been worked out in this field. This is the right time for the top countries of the world to address the agricultural sectors of the world.

Nepal which once used to be a nation where more than ninety percent of the population depended upon agriculture has always ignored to capitalize on its efficiency. If the plans and policy makers of the nation had pondered over things which they were good at, it would have been a very different scenario at present. The geographical conditions of Nepal are very favorable for farming and most of the parts have the most fertile lands in the world. It is still ironic to learn that when ninety percent plus percent of the population depended upon agriculture, the farmers had to rely upon rain for irrigation. This means, if something could have been done to the irrigation, the production of crops could have been a lot higher exceeding its internal demands. And when the production exceeds the demand, there would be a good chance of transferring every cultivated crops into cash.
The present conditions are still good enough to throw some energy towards agriculture as it has not been very late. It could be the time when the government implements some plans and policies to motivated farmers of the country. When the rest of the world is thinking of moving to Mars, it would be very wise of us to focus on what we are good at. It would not only benefit for us but the whole world could be saved from starving to death.
