Google has come up with a very new feature called the google desktop search which enables the search engine to search through the computer and not the web. If you are using a single computer then the google desktop search is nothing more as the windows search does it in a sufficient manner but if you are using multiple computers then this search engine might be pretty handy to you. The way of using the google desktop search is simple. You need to download the Desktop Search Tool and install it in those computers which you use very often and this download is for free. You also need a google account for installing it. Once you are done with installing the desktop search tool in all the computers you use then you can search for anything which can be anywhere in those several computers. The most fascinating factor of this search engine is that, the search is done on all the computers even when those computers are turned off. This indicates that once you install the google desktop search tool in your computer all the data or files are then indexed and stored remotely on their servers. This is indeed very cool feature but as far as I am concerned this does lack privacy and security though its worth for a multi computer users as the google says the transmission of your data is done securely, and your indexed files are treated as personal information ie. not shared.
