The new rule which has been widely accepted by industrialists in Nepal is the principal of “no work no pay”. This new policy is still to be implemented and if it comes into affect, the business sector is sure to flourish.
With the political unrest, the hardest hit has been the industries in Nepal for the quite sometimes now. Many of the industries have already crumpled due to the operating expenses. When the productivity level is almost at zero, how can the labors, employees be compensated with wages? This has become a serious concern for the last couple of years.
There are always a lot of issues regarding labor and their demands. Some of the demands are legitimate and those demands need to be addressed at the earliest. In this context, businessmen and industrialists have already shown their interest but then again with the political backup, the labors are yet to come to a compromise. The ‘no work no pay’ has been suggested in the constitution and most of the political leaders have nodded positively to this move. The only concern now is that, would the labor union leaders heed to their leaders who are superior in the hierarchy.
The labors and employers have their own problems and the industrialists have the same kind of problem. If both the parties don’t come up to a proper compromise, any new rules and regulations that have been proposed would not be implemented.
